It was late evening on a cold, crisp November night where, out of the blue, Donna experienced a flashback to that painful, gut-wrenching night in January, nearly two years previously, when she had to say goodbye to her beloved dog, Logan. It was from this unexpected flashback that Donna decided to share her reflections and insights, and so The Best Goodbye is her story. It’s a journey of grief from the loss of Logan – her best friend and soulmate – and one that Donna knows is shared by so many who lose their animal family members. A loss that often leaves a feeling of isolation, as some in society still consider them as “just pets”. Donna also offers practical tips for dealing with our individual loss and grief, as well as highlighting the choices available to us, to help give the best goodbye for our ‘furfriends’ when that time comes. ‘As time passes, we want to look back with warmth.
