Antique Indian Painted Teak Wood Pillar Candle

Fine antique Indian painted teak pillars now beautifully repurposed as individual and unique pillar candles, for indoors or outside. These amazing pillar candles look fantastic in any room in the house, and can also safely be used outside. Made from reclaimed pillars rescued from crumbling havellis in Gujarat State. The pillars are entirely original, at least 100-150 years old (probably older!) and we have saved them and given them a new life by adding a function. Each has a strong iron candle mount so that they can quickly and safely be used, and come with lots of old lovely paint and patination. Pillars like this come in a huge array of colours, sizes and styles reflecting the many cultures that influenced the land over centuries. These pillar candles are made from old wood, cut by hand many years ago, with a beautiful colour and patina which really shows its age and history, and there are some historic repairs and age related marks and wear and tear as you would expect for wood of this age.
